Industrial painting deals with different problems than office or retail work. Floors take forklift and pallet jack traffic all day, so a standard paint wears through in months, epoxy or polyaspartic floor coatings hold up because they're built for abrasion and chemical exposure rather than just looking clean. Structural steel needs rust inhibiting primer before any topcoat, and skipping that step is how you end up with rust bleeding through paint within a year, especially in Florida's humidity where bare steel corrodes fast.
High ceilings and racking mean lift work and careful sequencing so operations can keep moving in other parts of the building while one section gets painted. We check for existing coating failure, peeling, chalking, rust, before deciding whether the surface needs full removal or can be prepped and recoated. Chemical resistant coatings matter in plants handling specific materials, and we ask what the space is used for before recommending a coating rather than defaulting to a general purpose paint that won't hold up to what actually happens on that floor.
How it runs
- Assessment We inspect existing coatings, steel condition, and floor wear to determine what prep and coating system the space actually needs.
- Surface prep Floors get ground or shot blasted as needed, steel gets cleaned and any rust addressed before priming.
- Priming Rust inhibiting primer goes on steel, and floor primers are matched to the coating system being installed.
- Coating application Floor and wall coatings are applied in sequence, with cure time built into the schedule before areas go back into use.
- Final inspection We check coverage, adhesion, and finish before handing the area back for operations.
